Laksa - A local favourite bowl of savoury goodness with its rich broth and silky noodles, and this stall nails Laksa perfectly. Unassuming and ordinary - On the exterior, Guang Fa Laksa might seem that way, but its food is anything but that.

The uncle who is behind Guang Fa Laksa is often recognisable with his seemingly quiet demeanour, and gives occasional thumbs-ups to his customers. His heart is fully dedicated to his craft, and pays special care down to every minute detail that goes into each bowl of laksa. His meticulous nature and effort shines through his food.

The piping bowl of laksa was topped off with a generous amount of hums (cockles), and the noodles were smooth as silk. The creamy rich broth was exploding with flavours, and it had just the right tinge of spiciness, suitable for those even with a low spice tolerance. The fragrance of the coconut milk in the broth was in perfect meld with the different textures and flavours of the taupok, fish cakes and cockles,, a perfect harmony and delight to your tastebuds.

This delicious of laksa was however, not born overnight, but the result of years of perfection and hard work. The uncle constantly does his best to outdo his standard of a good bowl of laksa, and is constantly evolving to surprise his customers each time. He works tirelessly to ensure every bowl he sends out is nothing short of perfection, the embodiment of traditional, old-school, yet satisfying bowl of goodness. With a history of almost 20 years, Guang Fa Laksa tells the story of a man dedicated to his craft to serve his customers with the best bowl of laksa he can at inexpensive prices.

A hardworking individual, he is fully deserving of all the recognition he has over the years for his laksa, and we send him our best wishes in hopes that his business will continue to thrive on.

Until we can shake leg and lim kopi again,

The Hawker Cart.
