A bubbly couple stands, diligently stirring a large pot of silky, fragrant porridge at 6.30am. It was not an unfamiliar sight to their older customers, for they had been running this store for over a decade. A reliable breakfast spot for many old customers – This couple's culinary skills made customers feel at home with their hearty and soothing meals.

Serving porridge, economic beehoon and other local classics, they pour their hearts into serving their beloved customers, ensuring that each customer leaves fully-fed and satisfied.

Topped off with a generous amount of freshly shredded chicken and century eggs, each scoop is a guaranteed mouthful of aromatic, smooth, creamy porridge. If you are looking for an additional kick to the porridge, we recommend pairing it with a side of fried pig intestines! Unique to Ivan's Porridge, this side can hardly be found anywhere else. The fried intestines were rich in flavour, and we were glad to have uncovered this rare, hidden gem.

Boasting a confluence of flavours that will put a smile on your face, the porridge is an inexpensive bowl of joy.

If you are looking for an alternative breakfast to kickstart the day, the lovely couple also serves a Singaporean favourite full of our local classic flavours – economic beehoon. The ngoh hiang was tender, sweet and full of fragrance, completed with the classic luncheon meat, fish cake and otah, packing a punch with its rich flavours.

Surely, heading to Ivan's Porridge for a warm, soothing meal prepared with the delicate hands of the lovely couple is a highly-missed experience for many due to P2HA.
